Parish Priest

Rt. Rev. Mgr Peter Canon Smith VF

Peter Smith was ordained priest by Archbishop Thomas Winning in the chiurch of Saint Joseph’s in Cumbernauld on 29th June 1984. He was sent to Washington DC where he gained his licence in Canon Law from the Catholic Universirty of America. On returning to Glasgiw he served as Vice-Chancellor and Chancellor of the Archdiocese before serving for two and a half years at the Holy See’s Permanent Observer Mission to the Unted Nations in New York. On completion of his service at the UN he was appointed Parish Priest of Saint Paul’s.

Assistant Priest

Rev. Andrew McGowan

Andrew McGowan was ordained priest by Archbishop Philip Tartaglia in the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew in Clyde Street on 27th December 2018. He had already been serving at Saint Paul’s as a Deacon and his placement in the parish was continued by the Archbishop. In addition he assists in Chaplaincy cover at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital two days a week.

Rt. Rev. Mgr Patrick Canon Osborne

Patrick Osborne was ordained for the Archdiocese of Glasgow on 14th June 1959. For over 50 years he served in various parish assignments and in the seminary, St. Peter’s College. On his retirement from active ministry, he took up residence in the retired priest’s flat, part of the parish house. Mgr. Osborne frequently takes part in parish life and liturgy.
